and how can we break down manufacturer’s ideas of camera-centric hierarchies and categories.

Deconstruction is our answer after rethinking what is essential to the users. We believe a camera should be more than a tool for fulfilling rational needs of photography making, but enriching life as your inspiration.
Therefore, “how can SIGMA be the one to make this happen?”

As the answer to this question, SIGMA set itself to develop a user-oriented digital camera that reflected the idea of “how a camera can be” in a more flexible and true-to-life manner.

A still camera for stunning pictures

fp L - 61 megapixels 35mm full format Bayer sensor
An outstanding resolving power thanks to its image sensor with approximately 61 effective megapixels. It also features an excellent cropped zoom that capitalizes on its ample megapixels.

Smooth Autofocus
The fp employs high-precision contrast AF, ensuring smooth autofocus when shooting.
In addition to the contrast AF, the fp L features fast image area phase-detection AF. The fp L hybrid AF allows users to enjoy fast autofocus with excellent tracking. Both the fp and fp L feature face/eye priority AF, which makes portrait shooting extremely smooth

Power supply with USB charging
The fp L supports USB-C charging while the camera is on. When using it as a webcam, just connect the fp L using a USB-C cable and it works as an audio and video input device while getting its power supply from the PC*. You can join an online meeting or stream video for as long as you want.

Large choice of Color Mode
The SIGMA fp series color modes include not only standard modes for portraits and landscapes, but also the characteristic modes that have been highly acclaimed on previous Digital Cameras with FOVEON sensor, as well as modes that offer new artistic expression, such as Teal and Orange, Powder Blue, and DuoTone. The 16 unique color modes offer photographers even greater freedom and a wider range of photography and cinematography expression.

Save / Load Settings
The SIGMA fp L has a feature to allow you to save custom camera settings. Saved settings can be kept as QR code image data, which can load instantly in a shoot. As anyone can load the same setting instantly by sharing the QR code, it will be useful for sharing camera settings in a shoot where multiple photographers are at work

Cinema camera as a powerhouse in a shoot

Supports 3 RAW file formats
The SIGMA fp series supports CinemaDNG external recording, as well as Blackmagic RAW and ProRes RAW output to external screen recorder over HDMI. So you can choose a RAW file format according to your project workflow.

Supports camera control with a gimbal
With cooperation of a gimbal manufacturer, the fp series supports camera control with a gimbal. The excellent mobility of a compact camera system that takes advantage of a small and lightweight SIGMA fp camera will be perfect for gimbal shooting in a variety of settings.

Supports different frame rates
Supports different frame rates that are commonly used in filmmaking. The addition of true 24p, will further expand the range of projects you can cover with the fp series. Combined with DCI 4K recording with external output, it can be optimized to digital cinema formats.

The exposure tool can be used according to the photographer's preferences to accurately determine exposure levels.

Supports external SSD recording
Supports recording to the external SSD of up to 4 TB, allowing for more than 150 minutes of uncompressed RAW data (12-bit CinemaDNG, 4K UHD, 29.97p). The SSD can be connected directly to a computer after recording for speedy color grading.

Focus Ring Control function
The “Focus Ring Control” function that allows users to change the movement of the focus ring to either linear or nonlinear.
*1 Only for compatible lenses.
*2 To use this function, it is necessary to update the firmware of the compatible lens to the latest version.

STILL/CINE Link Settings function
The “STILL / CINE Link Settings” function that allows users to select whether or not they want to link key exposure settings between STILL and CINE modes.
*The following settings are affected: Shooting Mode, Shutter Speed, Aperture, Exposure Compensation, ISO Sensitivity.

Camera to Cloud (C2C) function
The evolution of the HDMI RAW output function has made possible the Camera to Cloud (C2C) function that combines Atomos monitors/recorders and cloud services.The recorder simultaneously records the RAW signal output by the camera over HDMI as an original camera file in ProResRAW format and an H.265 Proxy file. After recording is complete, the Proxy files are automatically uploaded to a cloud service such as Frame.io via ATOMOS Cloud Studio. This allows the client to check and comment on the footage without being on-site, and allows the editors to start offline editing.
